    1. Reloader Final On Hax

Hey guys, So I recently started playing Reborn and I'm totally in love with some aspects of the game - it's like Pokemon but if Game Freak ever took a risk! My only problem is with the battles. They're harder, and that's great (in theory) but so far the difficulty is coming from the enemies being packed with hax. Apparently the easiest way to make a tougher experience is to make it so that every story trainer comes equipped with confusion. I guess I'm just a little frustrated with getting smacked down over and over because the CPU pokemon exploit the most frustrating aspects of the game. Does this get better or is this just a general trend? EDIT: Guys in the three weeks since I've posted this thread, I've put 48 hours into this game and have just beaten Noel - going so far as to go back, find Corey's Nidorina, soft-reset to get the best nature and ability, then EV trained it 30 levels to abuse his entire battle.

Suffice it to say that I am now On Board With Reborn. Get a fast pokemon to take out Voltorb before he hits you. Or a tanky pokemon. Neuter Chatot with a Soundproof pokemon. Get an Persim Berry and destroy Lileep. Everything has a counter. You just have to find it.

This game requires you to think. That's why it's hard Your examples aren't hax difficulty. It's a Pokemon game where the bosses finally use their Pokemon to the best of it's ability (just like the player does). What, do you just expect a trainer to not use the strongest abilty their pokemon has? You exploit them. Wouldn't it be fair if the computer can to? The thing is, the computer has advantages you don't.

It's always at 100%, whereas you've just trudged through a forest. It has no need to carry HM moves. It has access to 100% of the pokemon available, whereas you don't.

Its teams are always suited to the wacky environmental effects. Pokemon are scarce, so if you don't have the exact answer to any of these - I missed the Whismur, for example - the second best answer is always: go away and grind until you can brute-force your way through. Which, honestly I know that's quite a subjective thing!

Some people love this stuff. I personally find it either boring or frustrating. You can use repels or just run away to arive at the battle 100%.

You can overwrite HM moves. You will never be able to brute force your way through. But you do need your team to be at their level.

And no, NPCs don't have acces to 100% of pokemon. Neither you, nor they can use legendarys. You are correct in that a Gym leader's team is build around their specific environment.

But instead of complaining about it, look up the specifics of that field and how you can turn the advantage around. For example against Florina (Lileep), bring some Fire pokemon and burn down the forest with a Flame Burst. Suddenly your fire pokemon have the advantage there. I think as gamers that play the official Pokemon games, we come to expect a certain expectation on how the game is played: You get your team of six, use type advantages to steam roll over gym leaders or battles in general, and the challenge comes from making it through all the trainers without free healing. Here though, you can do that with most regular trainers, but the Gym Leaders, Meteor Officials and Rivals are designed to make that as challenging as possible. Between Good IV / EV spreads, good coverage moves, field effects to take advantage of, and stronger AIs, these 'boss' characters aren't going to let you just spam super effective moves to win, and if you do spam them, you need to set up.

It's not about haxing you to make the game harder, its putting an obstacle in your path so that, instead of charging through it, you think of how to get around it. You have to create a strategy to counter the strategy of the boss, and that might require Pokemon that aren't in your main team of 6.
